Geo Targeting: Choose Where Your Banner Appears
Show the CookiePal banner only in the regions you need, and exclude specific countries such as the EEA, the UK or Switzerland.

Geo targeting lets you decide which visitors see your CookiePal banner, based on the country they are browsing from. You can pick whole regions and then exclude individual countries, for example to keep the banner off in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland while it stays active everywhere else. This guide walks you through choosing regions and excluding countries.
How Geo Targeting Works
The banner only loads for visitors browsing from a region you have selected. We detect the visitor's country from their IP address, so a visitor using a VPN is treated as being in the VPN's country.
You can choose from four regions:
- Worldwide
- EU Countries & UK
- USA
- Canada
Choose Your Regions
1. Open the "Settings" page from the sidebar menu and stay on the "Banner" tab.
2. Find the "Geo targeting" setting and tick the regions where the banner should appear.
3. Ticking "Worldwide" ticks every region. Your choice is saved straight away and you will see the message "Your banner has been updated!". Changes may take a few minutes to appear on your website.

Exclude Specific Countries
1. Under the region checkboxes, open the "Exclude countries" field.
2. Type a country name to search, then select every country where the banner should not load.
3. The list only shows countries covered by the regions you ticked. With Worldwide ticked, you can exclude any country.
Visitors from an excluded country will not see the banner, and CookiePal will not block any cookies or scripts for them. Make sure your website does not need consent from visitors in those countries before you exclude them.
